Artist in Residence, Scouts Centenary, 2019

For the centenary of the Scouts in 2019, Jeremy was commissioned to sketch 100 of their famous alumni for an exhibition in the headquarters at Gilwell Park. Inspired by the sketches made for the 100th anniversary of the RAF, loose pencil drawings capture the inspiring stories and lives of its members.

Steve Backshall and Jeremy Houghton, Scouts centenary

Each and every portrait has been drawn from life, complete with annotation from interesting conversations whilst working. Sitters included Bear Grylls (Chief Scout since 2009), Tim Peake, David Attenborough, Warwick Davis, Steve Backshall, Ellie Simmonds and Chris Evans alongside current and former scouts.

All proceeds of the exhibition went to the charity and a handful of sketches hang on the walls of Gillwell Park.
